What you will do

We have a new Performance Pathway Strategy, have built a new structure to support it, and we’re now  looking for a Hub Coach Pathway in South Australia to join our team.

This person will oversee the development and implementation of the lower end of the performance pathway program in SA, ensuring athletes are effectively supported in progressing from identification and recruitment, into Diving Australia’s Performance Pathway squads. The role involves proactive collaboration with Diving Australia and other State coaching teams to align the performance pathway with the National High-Performance Pathway Strategy. This person also plays a pivotal role in driving the growth and development of the wider pathway within SA, fostering excellence and sustainability.

Essential Requirements

  • Relevant Coaching Accreditation
  • Working with Children / Working with Vulnerable People Check
  • Drivers Licence
  • Significant experience (5+ years) in high-performance diving coaching environments
  • Specific experience in the development of programs and initiatives specifically targeting the identification and confirmation of athletes at the lower end of the pathway (pre-emerging)
  • Demonstrated experience of working with athletes at the lower end of the pathway to ensure they have the necessary skills to successfully progress through the performance pathway
  • Experience in working as part of a coaching team based across several centres and supporting a nationally driven high-performance environment and culture
  • Successfully worked within a program under the broad direction of the National Sporting Organisation (NSO) in terms of program objectives, total budget and responsibility for the administration of the pathway
  • A high degree of coaching knowledge and a proven track record in successfully identifying, developing, and coaching elite diving athletes to podium performances
  • Experience working with performance support teams, integrating sports science, medicine, and technical expertise to optimise athlete preparation and performance
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to inspire, and collaborate effectively with a range of stakeholders, including athletes, coaches and parents
  • An impeccable track record of adhering to the highest standards of ethical and professional practice
  • A resolute desire to ensure the safety and wellbeing of all athletes be they children, young people, or young adults

This opportunity is a Fulltime Maximum Term Employment contract out to December 2028 (with the potential to extend for a further 4 years).
