Adelaide University Sport and Fitness (AUSF) is looking for an experienced Head of Sport to strategically lead its participation and high performance programs, the development and support of Adelaide University sporting clubs and the advocacy and support for its emerging and elite athletes.
Key responsibilities include:
- Manage and support AUSF club governance, club development and operations.
- Oversee sport, recreation and fitness activities to deliver high performance, competitive and social sport to the University community that contribute to belonging, wellbeing and engagement.
- Manage strong and effective relationships with key stakeholders and partners.
- Be an active participant within the AUSF team and contribute positively to the inclusive and community-focussed culture at Adelaide University.
The Head of Sport Development is a senior member of the AUSF Management Team and provides exceptional relationship management with AUSF’s key internal and external stakeholders. The role is responsible for the strategic planning and delivery of sport participation and high performance programs, development and support of the University’s affiliated sporting clubs and advocacy and support for its emerging and elite athletes.
The role oversees the direction of AUSF affiliated clubs in delivering sport and recreation to the University community (students, staff, alumni and general community). It is responsible for the management of budgets and in-kind resources along with club governance requirements, risk management and compliance. The Head of Sport Development works closely with the volunteer executive committees of the AUSF affiliated clubs and manages several key advisory groups including the Sports Council, Clubs Advisory Committee and Blues Committee.
This is a dynamic role managing a small team with a strong service delivery and stakeholder engagement focus.
The Head of Sport Development reports to the Chief Executive Officer and works closely with other AUSF business areas and University departments including Student Experience and Success, Operations and External Engagement. The position requires relevant experience in a sport and/or community setting, ability to work autonomously and excellent stakeholder management skills.
