Description

The Queensland Academy of Sport (QAS) is on a bold journey towards Brisbane 2032 and beyond. Following the extraordinary success of Queensland athletes at the recent Olympic and Paralympic Games, we are now focused on delivering even more medal-winning moments through to Los Angeles 2028 and our home Games in 2032.

The Talent Operations Coordinator will support the mission of identifying and developing Queensland's future medal-winning athletes. This is a dynamic role that offers the opportunity to gain valuable, hands-on experience in a high performance environment - ideal for someone with an operations background looking to gain more athlete-facing experience. This role includes administrative and project support to the QAS Talent and Coaching team and involves regional travel to support talent identification.

This is a unique opportunity to contribute to the delivery of impactful programs while working closely with athletes, coaches, and performance staff. If you're passionate about elite sport, aligned with the QAS values, and ready to create more medal winning moments for Queensland athletes, we encourage you to apply.

Some of your responsibilities will include:

  • Provide professional administrative support to the Talent and Coaching functional area (including Para Unit) to enable effective and efficient operational practices, while remaining agile and responsive to sport needs (i.e., mailbox management, Athlete agreements, and Athlete inductions).
  • Provide professional and proficient general executive support to assist the Executive Director Talent and Coaching (and Talent and Coaching team members) in fulfilling their duties to ensure the integrity and efficiency of the function (i.e., vendor requests and maintenance and payment of invoices), and support the delivery of initiatives and programs of work.
  • Effectively plan and deliver work/projects, maintaining documentation and processes, supporting communication and engagement activities, and contributing to program initiatives as required (i.e., QAS Para Unit; YouFor2032 Talent programs; QAS Talent Support Plan).
  • Manage the delivery of procurement within agreed timeframes and in line with relevant project management methodology, ensuring solutions delivered are responsive to service needs, meet quality standards and are sustainable in a high performance environment.
  • Support the QAS Talent Team to implement world-leading talent search initiatives across Queensland, and track and monitor athlete progression throughout all stages of the talent identification and development program. This will involve attending relevant regional and state-level sporting events to observe, recruit and identify talented athletes.

The Queensland Academy of Sport (QAS) is committed to the safety and wellbeing of our athletes.
We are committed to an environment where athletes from any background are heard, treated fairly and free from abuse.
