This is a permanent role, offering the opportunity to work closely with our Senior Leadership Team, you'll be at the forefront of transformation - ensuring best-practice financial management, legislative compliance, and long-term impact. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for managing financial resources effectively and ensuring compliance with legislative and best practice standards - while championing sustainability and delivering value in the public interest.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Providing high-level strategic and operational financial advice to the QAS Board, Senior Leadership Team (SLT), key governance committees, senior managers, and stakeholders.
- Driving risk-aware financial and procurement practices that support performance outcomes and organisational priorities.
- Establishing strong and trusted relationships across the Board, SLT, executive leaders, and key external partners.
- Overseeing major budgetary decisions, including budget submission development and the financing of significant QAS projects.
- Leading the timely and accurate preparation of QAS's annual financial statements, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, Queensland Treasury reporting requirements, and other relevant legislation.
- Contributing to the integrity and continuous improvement of financial systems and records in line with auditing, departmental, and statutory requirements.
