About the role:
The Lifeguard Supervisor is responsible for ensuring the lifeguard service in the specific LGA (local government area) meets or exceeds the obligations outlined in the contract. The Lifeguard Supervisor is also responsible for providing mentoring and guidance to qualified Lifeguards.
The role will work alongside the ALS management team, its pool of lifeguards and the SLS volunteer movement to ensure successful delivery of the lifeguard service over the key patrol periods.

Some of the key duties will include:
- Lifeguard Service Delivery: Oversee all lifeguard operations within the boundaries of the allocated region
- Recruitment: Assist in the recruitment of lifeguards within your local area. Support, advise and mentor Lifeguards
- Stakeholder Engagement: Act as a key contact for Council, National Parks and other Emergency Services in your region
- Administration: Data collection and reporting
What you’ll need:
- Relevant current qualifications including:
- SLSA Bronze Medallion/Certificate II in Public Safety (Aquatic Rescue)
- SLSA Gold Medallion or Certificate III in Public Safety (Aquatic Search & Rescue)
- Advanced Resuscitation Techniques
- Provide First Aid
- Ability to successfully complete ALS Lifeguard Fitness Assessment
- Substantial experience and technical knowledge of lifeguarding or similar public safety roles
- An understanding of Surf Life Saving procedures, practices, and policies
- A current unrestricted Motor Vehicle Drivers Licence and access to own vehicle
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and Public Holidays (where required)
Location: Bega LGA patrolled beaches
Position: Full time. Monday-Friday. Contract role - Summer school holidays.
