The Opportunity

Take the lead in shaping and growing a high-performing swimming program that nurtures athletes from entry level through to state, national, and international competition. As Head Coach, you will design and deliver elite training programs, mentor and develop assistant coaches, and create a supportive, results-focused team culture. Working closely with facility management, staff, and key external stakeholders, you will play a pivotal role in driving both athlete success and the overall program’s reputation.

  • Position Remuneration - Aquatics Grade 7 - $85,111 Base annual salary - $96,607 Total Remuneration Package which is based on a permanent full-time employee and inclusive of 12% employer superannuation and 17.5% leave loading. 

About You 

You are an experienced and passionate swim coach with at least five years of coaching experience at state and national level, supported by a SwimAUS Accredited Coaching Certificate (or international equivalent), Senior First Aid, and a current Blue Card.

You will bring extensive expertise in high-performance coaching, advanced knowledge of swimming techniques, training methodologies, and competition strategies, along with proven experience leading and mentoring staff, scheduling programs, and fostering a strong cultural framework.  

With sound knowledge of pool operations, statutory requirements, and the SwimAUS National Integrity Framework, you will demonstrate excellent communication, problem-solving, and decision-making skills, as well as the flexibility to work varied hours and travel with teams. Additional qualifications in aquatic coaching, AUSTSWIM, strength and conditioning, or sports science will be highly regarded.

About the Role

You will drive high performance outcomes, guide athlete pathways, and foster a positive and supportive squad culture.

In this pivotal leadership role, you will design and deliver evidence based training programs, mentor coaches, oversee squad progression, and prepare athletes for major competitions. You’ll work collaboratively with aquatics staff and community partners, manage program operations, and ensure all coaching practices meet national integrity and safeguarding standards.

We’re looking for a coach who brings technical expertise, strong communication skills, and a passion for athlete development. Flexibility to travel for competitions and a commitment to ongoing professional learning are essential.
