Surrey Park Swimming is seeking an experienced and passionate Lead Junior Coach to lead our Junior program, inspire our swimmers, and build on our proud legacy of over 120 years as one of Victoria's premier swim clubs.

Reporting to the Head Coach, and working hand in hand with the Head Age Coach, this full-time position leads the Surrey Park Junior Program, creating the foundation for continued swimming success while maintaining a fun and social club environment. The role combines 18–25 hours of on-deck coaching per week, mentoring of the Fitness Squad program, and coordination of club nights, Junior Experiences, and swimmer recruitment and retention strategies. The role also includes participation in meetings, camps, trips, and swim meets as required.

The ideal candidate will be an experienced swim coach with a deep understanding of swimming technique and training methods, a passion for developing younger swimmers, and the leadership skills to oversee and mentor other coaches.

Required Skills and Experience:

  • 3+ years swim coaching experience
  • Experience working with younger developing swimmers and coaches
  • Deep understanding of swimming techniques, strokes and training methods
  • Demonstrated ability to coach, develop and influence people
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Competitive swimming experience at Junior and/or State level (desirable)
