Help grow triathlon across the ACT
AusTriathlon is seeking an enthusiastic and relationship-focused State Services Manager (ACT) to help grow participation, strengthen community connections and support the sustainable development of triathlon and multisport across the Australian Capital Territory.
This role is best suited to someone who thrives in community sport, stakeholder engagement and participation growth. While the title remains State Services Manager (ACT), the opportunity is centred on building relationships, supporting clubs and volunteers, connecting with government and community partners, and creating quality experiences that help more people discover triathlon.
About the role
As the local champion for triathlon in the ACT, you will work closely with clubs, coaches, volunteers, race directors, government partners and the broader AusTriathlon team to strengthen the local triathlon ecosystem. You will help connect people, unlock opportunities, support local delivery and ensure the ACT community has access to welcoming and sustainable triathlon and multisport experiences.
What you will do
- Build strong relationships with clubs, coaches, volunteers, race directors and community stakeholders.
- Drive initiatives that support participation growth and community engagement across the ACT.
- Support the delivery and sustainability of local races, events, programs and recognition activities.
- Partner with ACT Government and other organisations to identify opportunities for investment, collaboration and growth.
- Coordinate local operations, budgets and grant acquittals that support community outcomes.
- Work collaboratively with national AusTriathlon teams to deliver strategic priorities across programs, membership, clubs, coach education, events and pathways.
- Support effective governance and engagement with the ACT Triathlon Board.
- Provide regular reporting, insights and recommendations to support evidence-based decision-making.
About you
You are an exceptional relationship builder who enjoys working with people, creating local momentum and turning ideas into practical outcomes. You may come from community sport, recreation, local government, events, membership organisations, not-for-profit organisations or stakeholder engagement roles.
- Strong stakeholder engagement and partnership development skills.
- Experience working with community groups, volunteers or sporting organisations.
- A passion for increasing participation and creating inclusive sporting opportunities.
- Sound project coordination, budgeting and organisational skills.
- Strong communication, reporting and relationship management capability.
- The ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative national team environment.
- A commitment to child safety, sport integrity and positive participant experiences.
Why join AusTriathlon
This is an opportunity to make a genuine impact on community sport in the ACT. You will work alongside passionate volunteers, clubs, coaches and event organisers while helping shape the future of triathlon and multisport within a nationally connected organisation.
In line with AusTriathlon’s Reconciliation Action Plan commitments, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people are encouraged to apply.
