Who are we looking for?

We are seeking a Lead, High Performance Sport to join QUT Sport, People Services, Administrative Division.

The Lead, High Performance Sport supports the delivery and continuous improvement of the high performance sport environment at QUT. The role coordinates and implements the Elite Sport Program, including supervision of the Elite Sport Officer, and ensures effective delivery of initiatives aligned to QUT priorities and the broader high performance sport landscape. Working across industry, operations, research and student-facing functions, the position plays a key integrative role in connecting stakeholders, coordinating athlete pathways and supporting partnerships, contributing to enhanced student outcomes, strengthened program delivery and embedded innovation and good practice within high performance sport at QUT.

What you need to succeed

  1. Education, training and/or experience equivalent to completion of a postgraduate degree, or progress towards a postgraduate degree with subsequent relevant experience in high performance sport, sport management or a related discipline.
  2. Demonstrated experience managing or delivering programs within high performance sport environments, including athlete development, pathways or elite programs.
  3. Proven ability to develop and maintain effective partnerships with external and internal stakeholders, including sporting organisations and industry bodies.
  4. Demonstrated understanding of contemporary high performance sport, including the application of innovation, data and athlete wellbeing practices and the ability to provide practical advice to inform programs and initiatives.
  5. High level communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively across internal and external environments with stakeholders at diverse levels of seniority.
  6. Ability to lead and supervise a small team focused on achievement of organisational goals and continuous improvement.
  7. Demonstrated commitment to equity, diversity and Indigenous Australian engagement.
