Melbourne Swimming Club is seeking an experienced and motivated full-time swimming coach to join our coaching team.

This is an opportunity to work within an established competitive swimming program spanning Development, State, National Age, National Performance and High Performance.

Working alongside Head Coach Ian Pope and our broader coaching team, the successful applicant will work with swimmers at different stages of their development, from emerging athletes through to national-level and high-performance swimmers.

THE MSC PATHWAY

MSC provides a clear pathway for swimmers to progress through the Club, with coaching and support tailored to each stage of their development. The role provides the opportunity to work across different squads and stages of the development pathway, from developing athletes through to National Age and high-performance swimmers.

ABOUT THE ROLE

The successful coach will:

• Coach swimmers across MSC's Development, State and National Open & Performance programs
• Work with National Age swimmers and contribute to the broader performance program
• Work closely with Ian Pope and the wider coaching team in planning and delivering training programs
• Contribute to training planning, athlete monitoring and coaching administration as required
• Deliver high-quality, purposeful training sessions aligned with squad objectives
• Provide clear and individualised technical and performance feedback
• Support swimmers preparing for State, National Age and higher-level competition
• Attend selected competitions, camps and Club activities
• Contribute to swimmer progression between squads and the broader MSC pathway
• Build positive relationships with swimmers, families, fellow coaches and the leadership team
• Contribute to a strong, positive and performance-focused coaching culture

ABOUT YOU

We are looking for a coach with:

• Demonstrated experience coaching competitive swimmers across a range of ages and abilities
• Experience working with State, National Age and/or senior athletes
• Strong technical knowledge and an understanding of athlete development
• A genuine interest in helping swimmers progress through the pathway
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
• A professional, reliable and organised approach
• The ability to work collaboratively within a coaching team
• A commitment to ongoing learning and professional development
• Experience at National Championship level or within a high-performance environment will be highly regarded

EMPLOYMENT

Position: Full-Time Swimming Coach

Remuneration: Competitive and commensurate with qualifications, experience and the responsibilities of the role

The position will involve regular morning and afternoon/evening training sessions, together with attendance at selected competitions, camps and Club activities.

The successful applicant will be required to hold a current Australian Swim Coach Licence, a current Working with Children Check, and any other qualifications or compliance requirements relevant to the position.
