Chamford Gymnastics has been offering high-quality gymnastics classes since 1982. Our professional team of dedicated coaches remain keen to develop each child's gymnastics skills in a safe, fun environment. We believe gymnastics is much more than a sport as it requires dedication, focus and the desire to activate both the mind and body.

We offer classes for girls and boys of all ages and abilities.  We encourage all gymnasts to be their best.  We have classes for Toddlers and Kinder children in Junior Gymnastics, Recreational classes for school children in General Gymnastics.  We also have a Women’s Artistic Gymnastics (ALP) Competitive and Gymstar program.  There are coordinators assigned for each of the different programs.

Position Requirements

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• This is a Management and Senior coaching position with Program Coordination responsibility for overlooking WAG, Gymstar, Rec, and Junior Gym. While you have primary responsibility for these programs, it is expected that you will delegate tasks as necessary.
• Undertake all administrative tasks required of the Head Coach.
• This role recognises the importance of providing strong technical leadership, supporting the development of our coaching team and ensuring the effective delivery.
• Communicate effectively with parents in a timely manner.
• Be the contact person and Chamford Gymnastics’ representative for Gymnastics Victoria and Gymnastics Australia.
• Organise in-house training sessions, encourage and mentor coaches to attend relevant coaching and judging workshops as needed.  Be familiar with the Gymnastics Australia skills matrix for coaching levels.
• Attend all competitions and clinics relevant to the needs of each program.
• Manage Staff and implement Chamford Gymnastics’ Coaching Program and Club philosophy.  Make sure there is consistency in coaching across all programs.
• Coach Junior Gym, Recreation, WAG and/or Gymstar classes as required.
• Communicate with your team members on a regular basis with the allocation of work hours, assist with their lesson planning and to ensure that coaches are working towards the same goals. Delegate duties to Senior Staff as necessary.
• Lead program planning, athlete development and competition preparation. Prepare comprehensive weekly, quarterly, and annual lesson plans for your designated classes.  Assist coaches in creating their programs, and review all competitive program plans. Coordinate training programs, coaching resources and relevant administrative requirements.
• Organise and facilitate staff meetings.
• Show leadership and support all staff members.
• Ensure staff accurately complete class rolls for every session.
• Assist with Club events throughout the year.  Liaise with the Program Coordinators and senior staff to organise Club Championships, Holiday Programs, Fundraising and Special events.
• Develop and maintain relationships with Judges who judge for the club in WAG and Gymstar programs.  Set up learning and practice opportunities prior to competition seasons.
