Description

We are seeking an experienced Medical Doctor to conduct medical assessments and first aid at various BGS Rugby Matches in 2025. The Doctor will work as part of a team including Registered Nurses, and Physios. All Registered Nurses have completed the ICIR Level 2 training. QAS are also onsite and work in conjunction with the BGS Northgate Health Service staff.

Match Day doctor role and responsibilities:

  • Triage, assessment and referral of injuries in accordance with World Rugby Immediate Care in Rugby processes and in consultation with parents/ boarding guardians.
  • Collaborate with match side sports first aiders, physios and registered nurses to identify and assess injuries.
  • Implement Rugby Australia Concussion Referral and Return paperwork.
  • Collaborate with BGS Northgate Health Service team to ensure consistent application of processes, policies, medical and nursing standards, guidelines pertaining to head injuries, concussion and/ or suspected concussion.
  • Management of the BGS Northgate Health Service is coordinated by BGS Registered Nurses.
  • Staffing in first aid room includes: Medical Dr, 2 x RN’s, physio.
  • All staff are required to complete mandatory training for BGS and complete incident reporting for all injuries as per BGS onboarding and policy.

Commitment:

  • 5-6 games approximately at BGS Northgate Playing Fields 8am-16:00 during Rugby season, Term 3 2025. Dates TBC, Term 1 2025.
