About the role
We are seeking an experienced and visionary Executive Officer (EO) to lead South West Sport (SWS) into its next phase of growth and sustainability.
The EO will be responsible for the overall financial and operational performance of the organisation, ensuring alignment with the team’s strategic direction.
You will work closely with the Board of Directors to set and achieve ambitious goals for the long-term sustainability of SWS, while fostering a high-performing and engaged culture with our communities and funding partners.

- Salary Range: $124,840.04 - $129,756.12 per annum, plus superannuation

You will be a dynamic and visionary leader who can demonstrate extensive experience and a record of achievement. The ideal candidate should have a keen understanding of the state and federal funding landscape while maintaining a neutral stance.
You will possess strong ethical leadership, demonstrating integrity, transparency, and accountability in all actions and decisions. It is also expected that the EO will be a strategic thinker, capable of driving innovation and fostering a culture of continuous improvement and long-term planning within the organisation.
The EO should have a proven track record of enhancing operational efficiency, optimising business models, and improving organisational structures. Exhibiting robust financial management skills, integrating strategic and financial plans to ensure financial sustainability and identifying new revenue streams will also be needed in this key appointment. This leader should be well-versed in modern communication and engagement strategies.
Additionally, the candidate should excel in building effective relationships with stakeholders, including community groups, government bodies, and businesses, to maximise funding and investment opportunities.
The successful EO should also be prepared to relocate to the Victorian Great South Coast region, ensuring you are well-integrated into the local community and can address local issues effectively.

With an office located in Warrnambool, SWS aims to be a leading organisation in the sport and active recreation sector that is pivotal in developing healthier, more inclusive and active communities in the South West of Victoria comprising of Corangamite, Glenelg, Moyne and Southern Grampians Shires as well as Warrnambool City Council.
