Company Overview
Catholic Schools NSW (CSNSW) represents NSW Catholic schools and their owners to the media, government and other education sector stakeholders. Catholic Schools in NSW educate approximately one in five NSW students.
CSNSW has the following appointments from the Australian and NSW governments:
- Approved system authority for funding for the NSW Catholic schools system;
- Non-government representative body for NSW Catholic schools; and
- Catholic Block Grant Authority in New South Wales.
Under its Constitution, CSNSW acts as the overarching entity for the purposes of advancing education and religion in Catholic schools in NSW and ensures that Catholic schools meet their compliance requirements and can measure their activities in such a way as to maximize the education and faith outcomes of students. The company’s constitution is also backed by canonical mandates of delegation from each of the 11 diocesan bishops in New South Wales who are also the members of the Company.
Employees of CSNSW provide advice (to Government and Schools) on the full range of educational policy and compliance drivers impacting contemporary NSW schooling.
Primary Purpose of the role
The role supports the Director, Sport Services in the coordination of the provision of sporting representative pathways for students and teachers in Catholic schools in NSW. The purpose of the role is to develop, implement coordinate processes to assist in the operations of the CSNSW Sport team including administrative, logistical and operational support to CSNSW Sports Services division.
This is a full time position with a requirement to work from our Sydney, CBD office. Overnight and weekend travel is required from time-to-time.
Key responsibilities
The Sport Services Operations Coordinator has a wide variety of responsibilities including, but not limited to:
- Design and oversee the management and logistics database for CSNSW Sport Services.
- Delegate tasks to the CSNSW Sport Services staff including exercising delegated authority to oversee and lead team members.
- Coordinate and roster CSNSW Sport team at events.
- Manage cross country, swimming and athletics events.
- Support NSW All Schools.
- Attending events as required.
- Manage the CSNSW Awards (primary and secondary)
- Support the CSNSW Sport Portal, including development, reviewing, training, testing, and facilitating online drop-in help sessions.
- Assist the Director with financial consolidation and management of processes surrounding budgets, actuals, invoices, casual payments, and remittance advice.
- Coordinate and manage university trainees and casual sport staff.
- Collect data for the purpose of providing reports in collaboration with the Analytics Central team.
- Other duties as required by the Director of Sport including assisting other CSNSW teams as required.
Coordination, Implementation and Administration CSNSW Events
Coordinate the CSNSW calendar and events including booking and management.
- Coordinate and plan events which include but not limited to the CSNSW Sport Symposiums/Governance function and Awards.
- Coordination and rostering of event staff.
Merchandise:
Design, distribute and monitor merchandise and other apparel with the supplier.
- Coordinate and determine costing, inventory movement, marketing and information sourcing with the supplier.
Social Media, Marketing, and Communication:
- Create, present, and implement marketing and communications strategies across social media, internal and external communications with the assistance of the Public Affairs team when required.
Essential Requirements
- Working with Children Check clearance in accordance with the Child Protection (Working with Children) Act 2012.
- Empathy with and support for the mission, ethos and beliefs of Catholic schools and the communities they serve.
- Ability to interact with colleagues in a constructive and professional manner.
- Experience working in an education setting.
- Possess an understanding of the relevant risk and compliance matters relating to the school sport industry.
- Demonstrated effective interpersonal skills, including the ability to communicate effectively with people. from diverse backgrounds.
- Strong administrative skills.
- Strong computer skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, Outlook
- Typing speed of 40 wpm.
- Excellent organisational, time management, communication, and information technology skills.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and to manage several tasks concurrently.
- Current NSW Drivers Licence.
- Proven experience working in a team environment.
