Are you a natural leader who loves working in an aquatic environment? The Hills Shire Council is seeking an enthusiastic, energetic Team Leader of Aquatic Operations to oversee our pool lifeguards, pool plant operations and water safety best practise management. You will use your leadership skills to oversee a vibrant team of aquatic operations staff maintaining safe use of the facilities. The complex includes a 10-lane 50m outdoor Olympic-sized pool, additional 25m outdoor pool and two indoor learn to swim and leisure pools, along with a water play area, fully equipped fitness centre, café and retail. What you will bring to the role:

  • Prior experience overseeing aquatic operations in a fast-paced environment.
  • Demonstrated experience in providing patron safety by minimising risks and ensuring conditions of entry are managed.
  • Demonstrated experience in mentoring of staff and the ability to action staff training.
  • Solid understanding of maintaining pool plant machinery and associated equipment.
  • Demonstrated understanding of compliance to water quality in line with NSW Health Guidelinesand obligations to NSW Public Swimming Pools & Spa Pools guidelines.
  • The ability to prepare routine administrative reporting, rostering of staff, maintaining poolsupervision plans, formulating work instructions.
  • Ability to lead a large pool lifeguard team, including performance management.
  • Pool Lifeguard Certificate, Aquatic Technical Operations.
  • First Aid (HLTAID011) and CPR (HLTAID009).
  • Working with Children Check
