Step into a Swim School Supervisor role and play an important part in supporting the Willoughby Leisure Swim School and Aquatic Program. In this role, you’ll help ensure smooth day-to-day operations while delivering exceptional customer service to members and customers. Reporting to the Swim School Team Leader, you will also provide leadership and support to swim instructors, coordinate bookings and program delivery to meet community needs.

About the Role

As the Swim School Supervisor, you will:

  • Prioritise safety at all times, maintaining a fun learning environment in line with WHS policies.
  • Assist with the coordination and daily operation of Swim School and aquatic programs, including managing bookings, class allocations, scheduling, and program delivery.
  • Assess student progress, manage lesson levels, and provide regular feedback to parents and carers.
  • Deliver safe, educational learn-to-swim lessons and support the development of aquatic programs that meet participant needs and community demand.
  • Provide excellent customer service to all patrons of the Willoughby Leisure Centre with a focus on the Swim School team.
  • Respond to all Swim School enquiries and maintain up-to-date knowledge of Centre programs, membership terms, events, and entry fees.
  • Support Centre objectives and operations through timely and accurate administration, program planning, development, and evaluation based on established indicators.
  • Support program targets, including retention, and contribute to leadership and strategic direction.
  • Provide leadership and support to casual staff, including recruitment, induction, and training.
  • Promote teamwork across the Centre through collaborative practices and positive communication.
  • Ensure Swim School equipment is maintained and operational manuals are up to date.
  • Follow up all incidents and report to the Swim School Team Leader within 48 hours.
  • Adhere to reporting procedures and support data collection for business planning and budgets.

What You’ll Bring:

  • Previous experience in a similar position
  • Computer literacy, familiarity with software packages and database systems
  • Excellent communication skills with a strong focus on customer service
  • Advanced knowledge of aquatic programming & delivery
  • Knowledge of recreation/leisure centre operations and programs
  • Current Australian Teacher of Swimming & Water Safety qualification
  • Current Provide First Aid and CPR Certificate
  • Current Working with Children Check

Desirable:

  • Pool Lifeguard Certificate and/or Pool Operations Certificate.
  • Current Australian Teacher of Swimming  Extension Qualification (Infant & Preschool, Access & Inclusion, Adults, Competitive Strokes).
  • AUSTSWIM and Royal Life Saving Swim Teacher Assessor
  • Squad coaching experience
  • Knowledge of Perfect Gym software
  • Tertiary qualifications in Sports Administration / Human Movement Studies or equivalent
  • Current Drivers Licence
  • Train the trainer qualifications
