Description

This is a hands on, people focused role. As the coordinator on shift, you set the tone for the morning. You welcome students and families as they arrive, keep the changeover between classes calm and organised, and make sure instructors are on deck on time and well supported. When a family has a question about progress, a make up class or an enrolment, you are the person they speak to.

Assessments are a core part of the role. You assist with student assessments, level progressions and class movements so children are placed at the level that suits them, and moved on when they are ready. Consistency matters here, and you help ensure every instructor is assessing to the same standard.

You also carry the routine safety responsibilities of the shift. This includes pool and facility checks, following emergency and incident procedures, and upholding child safety practices at all times.

Administration is straightforward but important: attendance, assessment records, point of sale and shift notes are all captured in the swim school system.

Importantly, this role has clear boundaries. You are responsible for the smooth running of your rostered shift. Major staffing, performance, financial, customer or facility matters are referred to the Korowa Aquatics Centre Manager. This keeps the role achievable within weekend morning hours and means you are never left carrying something alone.

We are looking for someone friendly and reliable who enjoys working with children, parents and a close-knit team. You communicate clearly, stay composed when the deck gets busy, and are comfortable giving instructors practical support and feedback. Experience in a swim school, aquatic, education, sport or customer service setting is expected. Previous supervisory experience is helpful but not essential for the right person.
