POSITION CAPABILITIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The following responsibilities are indicative requirements of the role and are not intended to represent an exhaustive list of all requirements.
- Lead the implementation of AusTriathlon's participation, membership and sport growth strategy.
- Design, deliver and evaluate participation and membership initiatives that increase participation, drive membership growth, enhance member value and improve retention.
- Develop and oversee national participation programs and participant pathways that provide accessible entry points into triathlon and multisport and support progression from first experience to lifelong involvement.
- Drive participant and membership growth through data-informed acquisition, conversion, engagement and re-engagement strategies.
- Lead the development of innovative participation products, membership offerings and delivery models that respond to changing participant needs and behaviours.
- Identify emerging participation and membership trends, opportunities and partnerships that increase market reach, accessibility and relevance.
- Establish program performance measures and report on participation, membership and program outcomes to inform continuous improvement and strategic decision-making
KPIs
- Specific measures of success will include (but are not limited to):
- Growth in participation across AusTriathlon programs, products and membership.
- Increased conversion of participants into members and ongoing engagement opportunities.
- Improved participant and member retention and sense of belonging.
- Delivery of participation and membership growth initiatives against agreed objectives, budgets and strategic priorities.
- Demonstrated growth in participation from priority and underrepresented cohorts.
- Demonstrated collaboration across Sport Services, State Services and key stakeholders to achieve participation and membership outcomes
- Demonstration of behaviours aligned with AusTri values and framework
- Must be able to demonstrate and understanding of appropriate behaviours when engaging with Children
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
THE FOLLOWING QUALIFICATIONS ARE ESSENTIAL (E) AND/OR DESIRABLE (D):
- Experience within a National Sporting Organisation (NSO) or similar (E)
- Evidence of success in a Memberships and Participation or Operations focused role at an NSO or similar (E)
- Evidence of strong stakeholder relations (E)
- Strong business acumen including P&L oversight responsibility (D)
- Bachelor's degree, preferably in Commerce or Sports Management (D)
- Working with Children Clearance & Police Checks (E)
- Awareness of, and ability to work in accordance with AusTriathlon’s Safeguarding and Children and Young People policies (E)
OTHER REQUIREMENTS
- AusTriathlon is committed to protecting all children and young people from harm. We require all applicants that will work with children and young people to undergo an extensive screening process prior to appointment.
- Consistent adherence to all obligations and legislative requirements regarding Child Safety and Working with Children. This includes but is not limited to, holding a valid Working With Children Check (or equivalent) and internal education requirements.
- Awareness of and ability to work in accordance with the National Integrity Framework and all AusTriathlon policies.
- Must be able to demonstrate an understanding of appropriate behaviours when engaging with children and young People.
- You must be an Australian/New Zealand citizen or hold permanent residency, or right to work in Australia.
- Flexibility to work outside normal business hours, including weekends and evenings, to attend events and meet organisational needs.
