As the not-for-profit charity arm of the Port Adelaide Football Club, Power Community Limited harnesses the power of sport, our brand, and positive role models to create opportunities for children, young people and ADF Veterans to build skills, resilience, and connections - empowering them to shape their future and contribute to a more just, inclusive, and equitable society.

Our multi award winning programs are delivered across four streams including; First Nations, Multicultural, Australian Defence Force and the prevention of violence against women. 

Through innovative, evidence-based, and culturally responsive programs co-designed with communities, our programs address the following outcomes:

About the Role

The First Nations Programs Manager is responsible for Power Community Limited's First Nations portfolio, leading the strategy, direction and relationships that underpin the Santos Aboriginal Power Cup (SA and NT) and other First Nations community outreach initiatives.

To deliver these, the Manager leads the First Nations Programs Coordinator and PCL First Nations casual staff, driving their learning and development while embedding a holistic, community-informed approach to social impact across planning, development, delivery, and evaluation, and integrating this work into PCL's broader strategy.

The ideal candidate will bring strong leadership skills, cultural knowledge, community connection, and lived or learned understanding of the strengths and challenges facing First Nations young people.

This is a hands-on, dynamic leadership role that combines team management, program strategy, stakeholder engagement, and administration. The successful applicant will be comfortable leading a team, travelling interstate, regional and remote locations and adapting their approach to meet the diverse needs of participants across different communities and contexts.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead strategy, direction and community relationships underpinning PCL’s First Nations portfolio, including the development and support of the First Nations Program Coordinator and PCL First Nations casual staff.
• Oversee, lead, and build the stakeholder network to enhance the development of future opportunities and partnerships engagement for the Santos Aboriginal Power Cup, steering committee(s) and the Port Adelaide Football Club First Nations Advisory Committee in both SA and NT.
• Facilitate, develop, and evaluate program workshops in schools across metro, regional, and remote SA and NT, along with maintaining a strong connection with community organisations, and program partners – driving continuous improvement in content, reach, and delivery.
• Research and identify community events to attend and complete reports for government bodies and commercial partners in line with contractual agreements.
• Provide support to the General Manager with delivery of the Reconciliation Action Plan.
• Ensure compliance with child safety policies and legislative requirements.

What You Will Bring 

• 3-5 years developing and managing community programs (education or NFP sector preferred).
• Strong leadership skills and a passion for community engagement, social responsibility, and positive impact.
• Natural relationship-building ability with internal and external stakeholders.
• Exceptional attention to detail - organisational skills, strong communication skills, and time management.
• Current Working with Children Checks (SA and NT, or willingness to obtain), with a deep commitment to child safety and professional boundaries.
• Current unrestricted driver’s licence and current First Aid Certificate.
