About the Role

This newly established role provides an exciting opportunity to shape the future direction of access, inclusion, community participation and venue partnerships across Glen Eira Leisure. As the Access and Partnerships Coordinator, you will provide strategic and operational leadership across the Access and Partnerships portfolio, including Venues and Partnerships, Access and Inclusion, Every Body Active and benevolent programs.

You will oversee sports club and facility bookings, venue hire arrangements and partnership services, ensuring facilities are utilised effectively and customers, clubs, schools and community groups receive a high-quality experience. You will also lead the planning and delivery of inclusive sport, recreation and participation initiatives, build strong relationships with sporting clubs and community partners, and identify opportunities to increase participation and improve access to leisure services and facilities.

In addition, you will drive diversity and inclusion outcomes, oversee business and financial performance, and provide leadership to the Venues and Partnerships Team Leader and Access and Inclusion Team Leader.

Key Responsibilities

• Access and Inclusion: Lead accessible participation programs, benevolent initiatives and inclusive services that deliver positive community outcomes.
• Venues and Partnerships: Oversee aquatic, sporting club and facility bookings while supporting high-quality service delivery.
• Strategic Planning: Develop and implement strategic and annual business plans for the Access and Partnerships portfolio.
• Leadership: Provide clear and consistent leadership, supporting high-performing teams and modelling expected behaviours and standards.
• Partnership Development: Build strong relationships with Council teams, community groups, sporting clubs, service providers and other key stakeholders.
• Diversity and Participation: Promote diversity, access and inclusion across Glen Eira Leisure and strengthen community participation.
• Business and Financial Performance: Develop and monitor budgets, provide accurate forecasts and report on program KPIs.
• Continuous Improvement: Monitor program performance, customer satisfaction and service outcomes, identifying and implementing improvements.
• Governance and Compliance: Ensure programs and services comply with relevant legislation, Council policies and industry standards.

Skills and Experience

• Experience leading teams, programs or services in leisure, community, health, disability, recreation or a related field.
• Strong leadership, stakeholder engagement and partnership development skills.
• Experience managing budgets, performance outcomes and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Demonstrated ability to develop strategic plans, policies and operational processes.
• Excellent communication, negotiation and relationship-building skills.
• Understanding of accessibility, inclusion and community participation principles.
• Knowledge of relevant legislation, risk management and child safety requirements.

Qualifications

• Current Provide First Aid and CPR Certificate (or willing to obtain).
• Tertiary qualification in Health, Disability, Community Services, Recreation, Leisure Management, Business or a related discipline, or lesser formal qualifications with substantial relevant experience.
